Church Groups

St. George's and St. Nicholas Church Groups

We are an active parish and there is always something to be involved in for all ages. Our current events are listed on our What's On page, other groups that you may be interested in can be accessed below

Flower Arrangers

We are a small group of people who love flower arranging. We provide the flowers for St George’s Church throughout the year and also for any special occasions such as harvest festival, Christmas, Easter, weddings. We have a flower festival every few years which is based on a theme which last time was Music.

We would welcome anyone who could join us. No experience is necessary as you will have lots of help from the rest of the team. We are a lively group and enjoy a laugh and a talk whilst working.

Please contact Deirdre Williams or Fiona Eves.

Norton Coffee Shop

Norton Coffee Shop is open in the Clulow Room in the Parish Centre every Wednesday morning throughout the year from 10.00 am to 11.30 am for anyone who would like to drop in for a friendly chat over a cup of tea or coffee, cheese scone, a slice of homemade cake or a filled roll.

The prices are very modest and the tea and coffee are fairly traded with all profits being distributed to local charities in the area.

Please come along and bring a friend and you will be most welcomed.

Parish Breakfast

Parish breakfast is provided in the hall following parish communion at St George’s every Sunday. We provide tea/coffee and biscuits each week plus hot dogs or bacon butties, toast and current loaf once a month.
We have teams of about 3-4 each week with an organizer who does a month at a time. We start in the hall about 9.15 am and usually finish about 11.30 a.m.

Please contact Joan Cave on 733765 if you would like to help. The more the merrier!

Sidespersons

The duties of a sidesperson are very simple: to hand out hymn books, sermon sheets and Parish Newssheets to each member of the congregation as they enter the Church. It is a very good way of getting to know other people.
We are always looking for more people to help so please let us know if you are interested.

Contact: Parish Office.

Tuesday Club

We are a small, informal, friendly group who meet weekly from 1.30-3.30 pm in the Clulow Room. Some of us knit, some play dominoes and we all enjoy a good chat. New members would be most welcome so come along and have a cup of tea and a biscuit (sometimes cake!) and relax in a friendly atmosphere.
